my only concern here is that it is not *quite* visually distinctive enough

i think a new user will have a hard time knowing that this is a thing of interest

but that also needs to be weighed against busy-ness etc

yeah I think so too - I experimented with a few iterations where there was a more distinctive “C” in the bubble indicating it was config, let me make a more distinctive one and see what you think
