Additionally, we’re evaluating analytics/BI frameworks that have native support for DBT. Looker and Tableau do not work well with DBT. Any recommendations?

You could take a look at Hex - they have a dbt cloud integration that shows model freshness when you interact with your datasources. Though I’m sure @Kyle Lundin could answer other questions you might have about the tool 🙂

dbt are big partners of ours so expect some more integrations between Hex <> dbt this year!

when you say "don't work well", i wonder what you mean? There is definitely overlapping functionality and some repeated work in terms of defining metrics/docs/etc, but I think Looker and dbt do work very well together.
