Curious, is there a particular reason why setting the

DAGSTER_HOME

environment variable isn't explicitly mentioned in the "Getting Started" or "Tutorial" docs? I understand that there is a warning, but it is at run or execution time.

The idea is that you don’t need dagster_home to make it through the tutorial - though we should do a better job covering it towards the end. Where did you hit a hard error?

Hi @alex I did not get a hard error. I just wanted to be able to send someone new to dagster reference info on DAGSTER_HOME or dagster.yaml and I found it surprisingly difficult to find them in the official docs. For instance, DAGSTER_HOME is just somewhat vaguely mentioned in the telemetry section and not until you happen to look in the dagster instance page, do you find the actual info that one needs. I've entered "DAGSTER_HOME" in the Ctrl+K search feature, but the search results were not helpful. I have been using dagster for a while, but I am trying to put myself in the perspective of someone new to dagster. So for someone new or trying to get started with dagster, I feel like the info on DAGSTER_HOME and dagster.yaml isn't readily available or scattered about. Perhaps I am not navigating the docs correctly, but I will revisit them again and see if perhaps my perspective will change. EDIT: I think if the tutorial or getting started guide explicitly refers the reader to that dagster instance page for setting the DAGSTER_HOME and dagster.yaml page, that would suffice.
